Back in the Summer of 2012, Empire Avenue seemed like it had some real promise as a social media marketing tool but was being held back by some frustrating but fixable issues. So, I published a series: 12 Critical Improvements Empire Avenue Should Make.
Almost two and a half years later, Empire Avenue has finally decided to implement my #1 recommendation.
What did they do?

Yesterday, Former EAv CEO, Duleepa Wijayawardhana, aka (e)Dups, posted a message in the Empire Avenue Leaders discussion group, putting those who violate the EAv Terms of Service on notice.
He wrote, “Over my tenure as CEO, I was very lenient on many people… I have come to realize, looking back, that perhaps I was too lenient.”
He continued to single out 3 specific violates that would result in banning the offender.
The specific violations and the pitfalls…

This weekend, the 16th installment of the [X]Pendapalooza buying carnival will take place.
XP16 will start at 3 p.m. Eastern on Friday August 15, 2014, and run for a full 48 hours ending at 3 p.m. Eastern on Sunday August 17, 2014.
If you haven’t participated in past Pendapaloozas, it’s a fun, fast-paced, interactive event where wealthier EAv users invest in less wealthy users with no expectation of buy backs, a kind of EAv pay it forward.

This week Empire Avenue has been doing a blog-a-thon. It’s a great idea to rally EAvers to blog about Empire Avenue and get some bring some additional visitors and publicity to their blogs, as well as to Empire Avenue.

affiliate, partnership, referral
Earlier today Empire Avenue announced the start of the beta phase of a new affiliate program. The program pays affiliates an 8% commission on vees, eaves and upgrades.
However, it does not pay commissions on premium accounts and it does not pay any commission on purchases made more than 3 months after the referred user signs up.
Is it worth becoming an affiliate?

Empire Avenue has released the next Pie upgrade – Pie 21, which enables users to invest up to 2100 shares of other users (2200 with the dessert upgrade, 2300 with even more dessert). There have also been some changes in the rules for buying pie.
The Pie 21 upgrade is only available for cash – currently $42.50, and will go up to the regular price of $50 when EAv’s holiday sale ends December 21. Meanwhile, pie 20 can now be purchased with eaves.
